What the French, Toast!

Every once in a while Nellie and I will be watching our DVR'd shows and we will find a commercial that we have to rewind and watch over and over because is so random.

This first one is a video from a local rental store. There are a series of them but this one is the best.

This second commercial is an oldie but I still love it. There are so several cheezy one-liners that we have picked up on. It just never gets old.

I found my bucket of bernie brains

While my wife keeps on misplacing important things and losing her mind, I found something that I have been missing for 4 years! I was cleaning out the front closet and I found a little plastic tote thing with a Discman that I didn't even know I owned. In this off brand portable CD player that I didn't know I owned was my Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains.

Now I have two copies because I bought another copy off of Amazon. If you ever get a chance to listen to it, check out Elephant Ghost. It changed my life...not really it is just a kickass 8 minutes jam that is sure to turn your brain into applesauce.

Les Claypool (from PRIMUS)on bass, Buckethead on guitars, Bernie Worrell (from Parliament Funkadelic) and Brian "Brain" Mantia on drums.

The CD is called The Big Eyeball In The Sky
Own it! TODAY!

Believe in the lie
Of the big eyeball in the sky

Now Granny likes her media
She likes it nice and hard
When her soaps are on TV
She buys it by the yard
Gramps is in the room
Saying it's a bunch of crap
Watching football games for hours
With tortillas on his lap

Now me I like my media
I like it nice and thick
Throwing opinions at the wall
To see which ones will stick

But to formulate opinions
From what I see, is a joke
Because American TV's owned
by Pepsi and by Coke

Lady Gaga New Creative Director for Polaroid

I am interested to see what Gaga can make of Polaroid. The chic did go to school at the Tisch School of Arts at NYU. Yes she is the biggest name in pop music right now, but you have to look at how she has gotten herself to that point in so little time. Her performances, music, style, wardrobe, everything she presents to the public is an expression of herself and she does it so well that she has made herself the biggest name in the industry. To me that is art; no different then Van Gogh, Warhol or Dali, she just found the right avenue to do it.

I would hope that is the reason Polaroid has made this decision. I think it is a step in the right direction. She has said she wants to take the "iconic image of Polaroid instant film photo and bring it in to the digital era." I am not a pop music fan and I don't ever fall into the hype of commercial and obvious music, but I have seen things from her that is not normal. She has got me very curious as to her art and motivation. I have learned that it is just better to keep an open mind. Lets see what she's got.

Lady Gaga: Art Or Not?

New Polaroid PIC 1000

This is not Lady Gaga's work, this is the new Polaroid PIC 1000. Not sure what the price will be but it will come in metal or plastic or this killer 70's wooden throw-back. It will also have a flash, timer, and red-eye reduction. Someone else made a good point, I don't think Polaroid had any intention of discontinuing the instant camera, they just wanted to remind the world how good Coca-Cola Classic was. This is the past and it is now our future. Digital is alright but it will never replace analog.

For Auld Lang Syne, My Dear.

As I said before, this is the best holiday season I have had in years. What a way to finish it off then with our friends at our house! Can you say dance party? We partied into the New Year until about 6:30 in the morning. A few of our friends crashed here and we all woke up about noon, I guess. We layed around our living room all day with no TV and no lights. We just surfed the internet and read Cool Facts to eachother all day. An altogether worthless day, but I think that is what New Years Day is for; rest from completing yet another successful year. Saturday we had about all we could of being cooped up in our house so we called up the Halseys and went BOWLING! Afterwards we went to their house and sat in the hottub in the freezing weather. After we got out it started snowing about an hour later. It was so nice though!

The next day Nellie and I went out and took some awesome shots in the newly fallen snow. We went to Garvin Park and downtown, then we went to the antique mall and shopped around for antiques and primitives. It was an awesome afternoon! An excellent way to end the holiday season. Of course, Nellie's school was cancelled that Monday, so we stayed up and played Scrabble while watching some recorded SNL.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And auld lang syne!

Marley Cat

I am sitting on my couch and I hear a stomping going across my hardwood floor and it is MY CAT!!! My cat has got to be the only padfooted furball that actually stomps when he walks. I feed him premium weight management formula catfood! I need to get him an exercise wheel or something. Isn't he cute! Snagooooos!

Yes I love my cat and yes there are times when I would like to throw him against the.......ugh he just breathed in my face it smells like he has been licking a tuna's butt!

If only this Holiday Season could last forever.

Christmas morning was perfect! After going to sleep watching it snow outside our bedroom window, we awoke to a majestic white Christmas morn.

<This was the best Holiday Season I have had in a really long time. Everything was perfect! We went out on Black Friday, put up an awesome tree, had a Christmas party, made gingerbread cookies, I got to be Buddy the elf. Then to finish Christmas off, our cat Marley has to go and break one of my favorite ornaments. So I guess if that is the worst thing that could happen this year, then I think I got off pretty lucky.
